Ingredients:
- 500g dried wild figs
 - 1 litre water
 - 2 cups sugar
 - 6 star anise
 - 3 cinnamon quills
 
Method
Method:
- In a large pot, combine the water, sugar, star anise and cinnamon quills.
 - Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved.
 - Add the dried figs to the pot, reduce to a low simmer and cook for 20–30 minutes, or until the liquid thickens into a syrup.
 - Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
 - Transfer the figs and syrup to an airtight container and store in the fridge.
